Open Call for Artists and Writers

The unheard project, an online literary magazine, invites writers and artists with lived experience as refugees to submit original and unpublished work for consideration in Issue 1 of The unheard project, the citizen journalist arm of borderless360.

Those selected will receive a stipend for their work.

For writers

We welcome English-language submissions spanning all literary genres (eg poetry, short fiction) as well as journalism and personal essays. Poems can be up to 3 pages in length, while all other submissions should range between 800-1000 words. If your submission includes a translation, please provide a copy of the work in the source language, as well as information on the translator(s).

For visual artists

We welcome artists working with photography, video or mixed media. Please include high resolution scans (300 DPI) of relevant artwork where possible.

Submissions

All submissions and questions should be sent to hello@borderless360.org. The open call closes on 21 May 2021. The unheard project launches on 20 June 2021.
